Mid-Level Windows Sys Admin

We are seeking a Windows System Admin to be located in our Burlington, Massachusetts office. The successful candidate will report to the manager of Windows sys admin team.

As a Windows sys admin you will be responsible for the hands on Management, architecture, implementation, of windows architecture, in a large scale data center environment providing hosting services to external customers.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor windows environment for anomalies and errors, reporting and escalation of issues.
• Provide the required daily support, maintenance, and management of the platforms.
• Provide Level III support and repair.
• Manage enterprise applications responsible for server builds, patch management, virtual machine management, virus scanning, etc.
• Develop and maintain high standards in establishing procedures and policies to address routine jobs and certain resolution protocols.
• Meet or exceed SLA obligations consistently and on an ongoing basis, allow for accurate metrics to measure response time, meet BCP requirements for offsite access, and reduce the time needed to address hardware/software failures.
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Frequent visiting both Data Centers

Requirements:

• 3+ years of managing a Windows Server environment (Windows 2003 Server required) (2008 is a plus)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Experience administering IIS (Internet Information Services)
• Active Directory skills required, preferably with experience managing complex, multi-domain forests and trusts.
• Experience administering a Large Windows Server Environment
• Microsoft Clustering skills are required (desirable?), particularly SQL Server.
• Server management experience desired, especially with an emphasis on Dell Servers.
• Proficiency in DNS, DHCP and other standard network and naming services
• Knowledge of disk management with SAN, NAS and local storage with an emphasis on disk layout and performance desirable
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies e.g. Parallels Virtuozzo, MS Hyper-V desirable
