Site Management

Previewing your Site

Prior to publishing your site, you have the option to preview each page to make sure that spelling is correct, that images are in the right place, and to make sure that the overall look of the page is pleasant. If you would like to preview your site before publishing it, click the "Preview Site" button in the toolbar. Your site will appear, free of all checkboxes, site management buttons and edit buttons. Look through each page for errors and misplaced items. If you find any, click "Edit Site" in the toolbar. You will then go back to the main editing page. When you have edited your site to your satisfaction, you will be ready to publish your site.

Publishing your Site

Once each page in your site meets your standards, you will be ready to publish your site. Click the "Publish Site" button in the tool bar. In the directory name field, type the name of the site. On the next screen, you will see a message that tells you if your site was published successfully. If it was, you will see the new URL for your site.

NOTE: If you don't want to have your site stored in a subdirectory, then click the "All My Sites" button in the toolbar. Then click "Advanced Options". Next to your site, click the link that says "Make this my starter site". Your site will be moved from being accessible through the subdirectory to being accessible through http://username.bizland.com.

Unpublishing your Site

Unpublishing your site removes it from the public web locations. If you want to make some major modifications to your site and you don't want visitors to be able to see it until you are done, then you should unpublish your site. You can do this by viewing all of your sites, and then clicking "Advanced Options" in the toolbar. Click the link that says "Unpublish and keep a version to work on" - your site will be removed from public access. Publish the site when you are ready to make your site live again.

Deleting your Site

If you want to get rid of your site entirely, you will need to delete it. To do this, follow the same procedure for unpublishing your site, except instead of clicking to unpublish your site, you will want to click the link that says "Delete this entire site". Your entire site will be removed from the BizLand web servers. There are no backups of sites that have been deleted.
